As most Filipino maids understand English instructions well, you get fuss-free communication. They generally draw a higher salary but many families find it worth it for the reliable help. Hardworking and willing to learn when it comes to daily housework. Humble and easier to work with. They command basic English and can pick up simple Mandarin and dialects. Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia, similar to Bahasa Melayu. Generally popular with elderly who speak Melayu or Malay families who share similar culture and religious practices.
Strong work ethic, with the commitment to work hard. They draw a lower salary compared to their counterparts from the Philippines or Indonesia — a consideration for families on a budget. Some Burmese maids are not used to city living and might need some extra guidance to familiarise them with the environment.

How Hiring Works
For transfer maids already in Singapore, it can be as fast as 1–2 weeks. For fresh maids from overseas, expect 2–4 months for work permit processing and travel arrangements. Ex-Singapore maids typically take 3–6 weeks.
You need to be a Singapore Citizen, PR, or Employment Pass holder. You'll need your NRIC, proof of income (for levy waiver if applicable), and the maid's passport/documents. Silink handles all the MOM applications on your behalf.
